The lanterns represent the historic and fine craft traditions of Yemen. The beautiful patterns and the fine cotton fabric create a unique light experience.
The lanterns are produced at the Ahmed Antik silversmithy in the old city of the capital, Sana'a, but production had largely come to a complete standstill during the war. In collaboration with Yemen Journey (new window) we have restarted production.
They can be used with candles both indoors and outdoors.
Available in three designs:
- SHAMSA (means sun)
- MURJANA with red coral stones
- ATIKA with agate stones
Specifications:
- Diameter: 17 cm
- Height when folded: 10 cm
- Height when hanging: 30 cm
- Made of brass, cotton fabric and metal wire
Please note that this lantern is smaller than the large lanterns and can only be used with candles.
